Inertia, and not the lack of thought, that is the root of all evil. If science can be believed, the best way to counter inertia is for a greater force to come into the picture. Applying this to life, this greater force, I am coming to see, is self-determination. Will. So the stronger the will, the more determined you are to move. The freer you are, the less influence "inertia" has on you. The more influence it has on your life, the less you BECOME. Thus, if you allow this, eventually, you will amount to NOTHING.
So with this, I say that, I do not think it was ultimately curiosity that killed the cat. It was boredom.

The First List...is the longest?
I'm getting boring. And that is never good.
I stay at home and sleep my days away. When I wake up at twilight, I feel a twinge of regret, of spending my day cooped-up in our house. I noticed that nothing holds my interest longer than a passing glance. My passion for life has waned, and not even coffee can jump-start my losing interest.
After long conversations with myself (all played in my head, of course), I've realized that there is one way out of this predicament. It's time to get out of my comfort zone. Obviously, this so-called comfort-zone is no longer comfortable, and, in fact, seems more like a prison than a haven. So, it's time to get myself out of here.
Try new things. Play the piano again. Sing a song, off-key or not. Run in a marathon. Laugh out-loud. Dance the night away. Drink and be merry. Go boxing. Lie down on a beach. Stop worrying and start living.
I can go on and on for hours about the things that I want to do, but I've narrowed my list to a couple of VERY IMPORTANT to-dos. Here goes:
a) start driving in REAL LIFE
STATUS: Started on Feb 8!
OK, before you go judging me, note that I've already started driving before. All incidents have lead to accidents. Believe it or not. Our neighbor still looks suspicious when she sees me on the wheel. Well, you would be too when your next-door neighbor decides to crash her father's car into your gate! So, it's time to drive away that suspicion in her eyes! It's also time to give the men of my life (ie, Daddy, boyfriend, brothers) a break from driving me around town. This year is the year that I will be an actual car-driver!
FIRST TEST: STARTED
Persuade Daddy/Mommy to let me take the car. Enroll in a driving class. ATTEND DRIVING CLASSES!
NOTE (Feb 10):
a) Was able to persuade Daddy to let me drive
b) Found a "drive-mate" in my friend Val
c) Found (and contacted) a tutor driver!!! Mang JR!
SECOND TEST:Must be able to take the car to work for a week. Includes parking, navigating the streets of Manila, and avoiding motorcycles/gates/people/animals/other cars/TRUCKS!!/jason ivler/road rage at all costs, survive with normal heart rate, start believing that driving is not 90% luck
THIRD TEST:
Take car to mall...and be able to park without any injuries to the car...any car.
ULTIMATE TEST:
Drive ALONE (yikes!).
b) Get my master's degree (MBA)
STATUS: Not started
While I realize that it is impossible to get a degree in 1 year (actually less), I would like for me start with this ambition.
FIRST TEST:
Pass the requirements. Includes asking for recommendations. LEARN HOW TO DRIVE (so that I can drive myself to school)
SECOND TEST:
Take the entrance test, and PASS! Try to get a scholarship, if needed.
ULTIMATE TEST:
Attend class, and enjoy. Learn stuff!
c) Go boxing
STATUS: Not started
Yes. This might come out of the blue, but I've always wanetd to learn how to box. I can't run for a long time (neiter can I sprint, if that's what you're suggesting), but boxing, I can do this!
FIRST TEST:
Figure out where to take boxing. Inquire about classes. LEARN HOW TO DRIVE!
SECOND TEST:
Enroll in a class. If needed, be a member. PS. Look for cheap gyms. Must save-up
ULTIMATE TEST:
Actually go to a class, and box away. Be a female Manny Pacquiao (no, NOT MOMMY DIONISIA!!!!)
d) Spend some quality time with friends.
STATUS: SEMI-STARTED on Feb 8
In my self-imposed exile, I've lost contact with some key people of my life...my girlfriends (includes Plim). Time to correct this.
FIRST TEST:
Schedule a night-out with my different sets of friends. Plan a night that everyone will enjoy. Bond. Drink alcohol. Just RELAX!
NOTE (Feb 10)
a. Scheduled a "drive-a-thon" with my friend Val (in support of first goal)
b. Talked to my good friend Denise for a LONG LONG TIME!!!!!
c. Will be taking my friend Jaui to a bridal fair...along with baby Iggy!
SECOND TEST:
Push through with the plan!
ULTIMATE TEST:
Schedule a regular session with my girls. Leave Paui behind. It's girl time...and he's not a girl...otherwise, the Dec 26 date is off.
e) Pray. Reconnect with God.
STATUS: STARTED ON FEB 8!
FIRST TEST: Spend time with God. Just...let myself feel, and let Him feel what I'm feeling.
NOTE (Feb 10): Will be trying-out prayer sessions with Meg! Updates on Saturday!!!!!
f) Start this blog.
STATUS: Started!
This is the first step towards my plans! So, my blog-witnesses, be just that...my witnesses. When my tasks seem to go undone, persuade me. Pull me by the hair if needed (although would appreciate it if you just take me by the wrists), but MAKE ME DO THIS! Life is passing me by, and it's time that I climb on-board, and take what it has to give.
LIFE ONLY HAPPENS ONCE, and I plan on making my one and only trip to life, as helluva exciting as I can.
So please help.
